  Donald A. Caminiti, Esq.- Biography

DONALD A. CAMINITI is a principal with the firm of Breslin and Breslin, P.A. in Hackensack. He is a member of the Bar of the State of New Jersey (1976); the Bar of the State of New York (1980); the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (1977); and the United States Supreme Court (1985).

Mr. Caminiti is a Master at the Justice Morris Pashman Inn of Court. He is Certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court; holds a Certificate in Civil Trial Advocacy issued by the National Board of Trial Advocates;  and is an Advocate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. His area of concentration is primarily in the fields of medical negligence, products liability and general negligence.

Mr. Caminiti is past president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, New Jersey Chapter, and is presently a member of its Board.  He is a member of the Board of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; a member of the American Bar Association; New Jersey Bar Association; Bergen County Bar Association; New York Bar Association; and the Washington DC Bar Association.

He was named Outstanding Lawyer of America in 2003, and is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum.  He is a long standing member of Trial Lawyers for Public Justice.

He is the co-author of “Recreation and Sports Equipment”, Products Liability Practice Guide (Matthew Bender 1988) and the "Model Statement of Procurement  Policy for Public Housing Authorities Operating in New Jersey".  Mr. Caminiti also authored “How to Prove Portee or Falzone Emotional Distress Cases” published in the National Trial Lawyer. Mr. Caminiti lecturers for ATLA-NJ, ICLE and for many other organizations.

Mr. Caminiti served as special counsel to the Attorney General of the State of New Jersey to represent the State in its litigation against the tobacco industry to recover Medicaid and other health costs incurred by the state resulting from tobacco related illnesses. 

He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Rutgers University (1973) and received his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law (1976).
